Long Weekend

This is a long-weekend in the Dominican Republic. Monday is Dominican independence day. Many friends visiting so I have been running around like crazy. But really having a good time. Went out to Punta Cana to look at a couple of resorts with a friend who wants to have his 40th birthday party there. And oddly enough the place we liked the best was the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The place is incredible. Will write more information about the space later. But I was really impressed. Most of the resorts were really nice. But with the Hard Rock we were dealing with great professionals. They were not quite as professional at the other resorts. I am not a big all-inclusive person, but they might make me change my mind. Punta Cana is doing booming business. At most of the resorts we visited occupancy was very high. Unfortunately, Punta Cana is not a place you can just drive to and check out the beaches. If you don't have an appointment or reservation it is very difficult to get onto the properties. But more later about the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. There will be a military parade on the Malecon on Monday. I, of course, will be out lurking about with my trusty camera. Have a great weekend!

I fondly remember my adventures during Independence Day in the DR in 2005. Because I'd injured myself [big time] I struggled while trying to walk that long street in that small town, but in looking back, I am glad that I did not yield to the torn ligament that prevailed. [...like three of these men in the accompanying photo! Yum! Yum! Yum! A 4way would be great! Yum! Yum! Yum!]

About Me

Monaga

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Former New Yorker (Harlem!) living in Santo Domingo since January 2004. The person I was when I arrived is a totally different person today. I still love living in the D.R. Even with all its obvious contradictions. This blog is where I write about things I find interesting with the gay community, news, gossip, culture, and of course, men. Strictly from my point-of-view.
