Love the ones that embrace their complete heritage and not choose one or the other. And really hate when families do the light and good hair thing... REALLY??

What a refreshing look at this topic which can be sooo hurtful - even as pointed out, within one's own family. Embrace yourself - the TOTAL self.
Was reading Dominican Today and on that blog, most of the folks felt that the former Miss Universe married 'down' with her dark skin Dominican baseball player husband. Sooo, the old colonial ways is steeped within the culture.
I just wish we could just get rid of those two words - 'good hair'. WTF???
